Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules that apply when you access or use ClaimCat and its features.

Accepting these terms

By accessing or using ClaimCat, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website.

What ClaimCat provides

ClaimCat is a discovery and organization tool that helps visitors find and review open class action settlements. It provides:

  • Browseable listings of open settlements
  • Search by company, product, service, or issue
  • Summarized eligibility, payment, proof, and deadline details where available
  • Claim-detail pages with information about individual settlements
  • The ability to save listings in the current browser for easy reference
  • Links to official settlement websites and claim forms
  • A Contact form for website-related messages
  • A Submit a Settlement form for suggesting settlements for review

ClaimCat is not a comprehensive source. Not every active settlement will be listed, and listings do not constitute personalized legal advice.

No claims administration

ClaimCat does not accept or process individual claims. Specifically, ClaimCat does not:

  • Accept individual claims
  • Process claims
  • Determine eligibility
  • Approve or reject claims
  • Review claimant documents
  • Change submitted claims
  • Check claim status
  • Issue settlement payments
  • Control filing deadlines or administrator procedures

Claim-specific questions must be directed to the settlement administrator through the official settlement website.

Accuracy and official sources

ClaimCat organizes and summarizes publicly available settlement information and attempts to keep listings useful and current. Settlement information, however, can change on short notice, and:

  • Listings may contain errors, omissions, delays, or outdated information
  • Payment amounts may be estimates or may depend on later calculations such as claim volume and attorney fees
  • Deadlines and eligibility details are set by courts and administrators and may change

Official settlement notices, court documents, settlement agreements, and the settlement administrator’s website remain authoritative. Always verify deadlines, proof requirements, and filing instructions directly on the official settlement website before acting.

If a ClaimCat summary differs from the official settlement materials, rely on the official materials.

Your responsibilities

Visitors who use ClaimCat are responsible for:

  • Reviewing the official settlement materials for the settlements they intend to pursue
  • Determining independently whether they may qualify for a particular settlement
  • Meeting applicable filing deadlines
  • Completing official claim forms accurately
  • Providing required documentation to the settlement administrator
  • Keeping confirmation records from the official filing process
  • Protecting personal, claim, financial, and account information
  • Directing claim-specific questions to the settlement administrator

Seeing a listing on ClaimCat does not establish eligibility or guarantee a payment. Eligibility and payment decisions are made entirely by the settlement administrator.

Saved Claims

The Saved Claims feature stores claim identifiers in your browser’s local storage. No account is required to use it.

  • Saved Claims are stored in the browser and on the device where you saved them
  • They do not sync across devices or browsers
  • Clearing browser or site data can remove saved items
  • Private browsing or browser storage restrictions may prevent persistence
  • Saved Claims are not transmitted to or stored on ClaimCat's servers through this feature

Saving a claim does not:

  • File the claim
  • Reserve eligibility
  • Extend a deadline
  • Notify the settlement administrator
  • Guarantee a reminder or notification
  • Guarantee that the listing remains available
  • Back up the saved list to ClaimCat's servers

Saved Claims is an organizational feature only. ClaimCat cannot recover a lost saved list.

Acceptable use

Visitors must not:

  • Attempt unauthorized access to ClaimCat systems or data
  • Interfere with the operation of the website
  • Submit malicious code, scripts, or payloads
  • Circumvent access controls
  • Abuse, overload, or disrupt ClaimCat forms or infrastructure
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Submit knowingly false or misleading information
  • Use ClaimCat forms to transmit sensitive claimant records
  • Use automation in a way that materially burdens or disrupts the service
  • Use ClaimCat in violation of applicable law

These restrictions do not apply to search engines, accessibility tools, ordinary browser features, or reasonable public-interest research. ClaimCat may restrict access or remove submissions associated with abuse.

Messages and settlement suggestions

Visitors may contact ClaimCat through the Contact form or suggest settlements through the Submit a Settlement form. Visitors retain ownership of original material they submit, but by submitting, visitors grant ClaimCat permission to:

  • Store and review the submission
  • Verify information in the submission
  • Contact the submitter where appropriate
  • Edit factual settlement information for clarity and consistency
  • Incorporate relevant public settlement facts into ClaimCat listings
  • Use the submission to operate and improve the website

This permission is limited to ClaimCat’s operation and publication purposes. It does not extend to official settlement notices, court documents, third-party trademarks, or a submitter’s unrelated intellectual property.

Submitting information does not guarantee publication. Settlement suggestions are reviewed before any listing is created and are not published automatically. ClaimCat may decline, remove, shorten, clarify, or correct a submission. Contact messages may not receive an individual response.

Visitors must not submit confidential claimant documents or information they are not authorized to provide. See also the Privacy Policy for details on how submitted information is handled.

Intellectual property

ClaimCat’s original name, wordmark, mascot artwork, page design, explanatory text, software, and site organization may be protected by intellectual-property law.

Third-party company names, product names, trademarks, court documents, settlement notices, and administrator materials remain the property of their respective owners or are public materials used for informational purposes. Displaying a third-party name or trademark on ClaimCat does not imply sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement by that party.

Advertising

ClaimCat includes clearly identified advertising placements. Those placements are currently reserved for Google AdSense integration. When advertisements are served, they will remain visually distinct from settlement listings and official claim links.

Advertisements are not court notices or settlement-administrator communications. They do not determine eligibility, affect claim approval, or affect payment. Displaying an advertisement does not mean ClaimCat endorses the advertiser or product.

Availability and changes

ClaimCat is provided on an “as available” basis. ClaimCat may at any time, without notice:

  • Correct, update, or remove listings
  • Change, add, or discontinue features
  • Update page design or information organization
  • Suspend parts of the service
  • Experience interruptions due to maintenance or infrastructure issues

ClaimCat does not promise uninterrupted, secure, or error-free availability and does not guarantee any specific uptime. External links may stop working without notice.

Disclaimers

ClaimCat is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ClaimCat makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

  • The completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any listing or information
  • The availability or continuity of the website or any feature
  • External links or third-party websites
  • The persistence of browser-stored Saved Claims
  • The availability of forms or other features

No eligibility determination, claim approval, settlement outcome, or payment is guaranteed by use of ClaimCat. See also the disclaimer page for additional detail.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ClaimCat and those involved in operating it are not responsible for losses or harm arising from:

  • Reliance on incomplete or outdated listing information
  • Missing a settlement deadline
  • Decisions made by settlement administrators
  • Claim rejection or payment delays
  • Payment amounts that differ from estimates
  • Loss of browser-stored Saved Claims
  • External website content, unavailability, or security incidents
  • Improper or unauthorized use of the site

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to every visitor.

Governing law and disputes

ClaimCat has not designated a specific governing-law, venue, arbitration, or dispute-resolution provision in these Terms. Those provisions may be added in a future revision after appropriate review.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be revised when features change, when forms change, when advertising changes, when operational practices change, or when legal requirements change. When they are revised, the Last updated date at the top of this page will reflect the new date. Continued use of ClaimCat after revised Terms are posted may indicate acceptance of those changes.
